Teaching Testimonials

“Sarah’s teaching style is effective, procedural, easy to understand, and always on the cutting edge of pedagogy and research”.

-- Dr. Matthew Latta, Vincennes University

“Sarah’s work with him truly allowed him to find his voice”.

-- Dr. Oliver Henderson, Central Michigan University

"An outstanding voice teacher, Sarah Stone is prepared, positive, professional, completely dedicated to healthy vocal pedagogy.  She is one of the most patient, encouraging people I know--nurturing and she knows what she is doing.  Her background as a singer and stage director makes her an incredibly well-rounded artist and pedagogue".

                                                                                                                               -- Dr. Casey Robards

Lecturer in Collaborative Piano, Oberlin Conservatory

"Sarah has a talent for diagnosing vocal problems at first listen, and quickly creates tailored vocal exercises that she uses to guide the student to correct the problems, and strengthen the voice. Sarah has no ego.  If her vocal remedy is not producing the results she or the singer had hoped, Sarah quickly regroups and tries a new approach. As a teacher of voice myself, I have sent my own students to have a few lessons with Sarah to work on resonance.  Sarah elicited quick, lasting results with the students!"

LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA IS OUTSTANDING

"So if you didn’t get to see “The Light in the Piazza” during its opening weekend, seriously consider attending one of the remaining performances Friday and Saturday. Sarah Stone (on opening night) invested the role of the mother with a natural maturity far beyond her actual years; not only that, but [she] handled some taxing solos with conviction both musically and dramatically.

THE TALE OF LADY THI KINH:

PHAN'S NEW OPERA HOLDS PROMISE

"Thi Kinh (called Tieu Kinh Tam as the monk), faced with unforgiving cruelty, decides to enter nirvana, then shows herself to all those who had sought to torment her and who, now, forgive and ask to be forgiven. Sarah Stone excelled in the title role".
